Two armed robbers have been arrested by the police for terrorising students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), and residents of Ogbomoso town, Oyo State.

The suspects, Olanrewaju Abass (28) and Musa Khahi (33), were arrested in their hideout in Ogbomoso after they invaded a hostel at the Adenike area and dispossessed students of their belongings.

Parading the suspects, the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, said, “As soon as the incident was reported at the monitoring unit, Ogbomoso operational base, a team of operatives swung into action and after a discreet investigation and intense manhunt for the armed robbers, one of the syndicate’s members was arrested in his hideout. One Baretta pistol loaded with six live cartridges and a Toyota Venza with registration number: KJA 719 HJ, which they use for their criminal activities and six of the expensive cell phones carted away from the victims were recovered from the suspect.

“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and series of similar crimes he had masterminded within Ogbomoso town and its environs.
