According to Daily Trust, two other victims met their death around a primary school not far from the venue of the first incident, while the last two victims were shot at a place called Naton.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Alabo Alfred, who confirmed the incident, said that the police were alerted after the gunmen had perpetrated the act and escaped.

Alabo said that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area immediately alerted other security agencies, including the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), adding that security had been beefed up in the area.

The PPRO explained that the motive of the attack “is still unclear” as the area was not known for crisis, noting that the security were on the trail of the attackers.
