A 22-year-old man identified as Ayuba Enupe has been sentenced to three years imprisonment by a Magistrates Court in Kwara state for housebreaking and theft of five bundles of 50kg sacks in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.

The Magistrate, Abdullahi Ahmed Boro handed the convict the jail term without an option of a fine, having found him guilty of the offence.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command arrested Ayuba for allegedly breaking into the house of one Mr Jimoh Adigun at General hospital Road, Kaima around 1:00 hours on Thursday, 21st July 2022 where he carted away five bundles of 50kg sacks.

The complainant reported the case and Ayuba was eventually arrested by operatives of the civil defence corps while he was trying to dispose of the stolen materials.

Further investigation revealed that Ayuba was earlier involved in another housebreaking and theft of two Android phones from the residence of one Abdulrasaq in Kuokuo area, Kaiama.

The Acting Commandant, Jonah Gabriel, appealed to Kwarans to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement in their domains.

He assured Nigerians that the Civil Defence Corps will not compromise in her duties to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians and requested more cooperation and support towards achieving a crime-free society.
