Armed robbers raped two sisters at Angwan Gwari Kwamba in Suleja LGA of Niger State.
The incident happened in the wee hours of Wednesday when the robbers invaded the victims’ house.
Speaking with Daily Trust, the mother of the victims, Madam Okon Ruth, who spoke amid tears, said the attack occurred between 3am and 4am and that that the robbers were five in number.
She said, “We were sleeping when the door of our apartment was broken and five armed men came in. They ransacked the house and took whatever they could. After that, they took my two daughters to a separate room and had carnal knowledge of them. We are even reluctant to report to the police because of the shame and trauma.”
A resident of the area, Babatunde Rufus, said the robbers also raided a three-bedroom.
The Niger State Police Command is yet to comment on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
