Bandits shot dead a kidnapped victim identified as Abdulmalik Bukar in Adamawa State after collecting a ransom of N1.5 million.

The 32-year-old fresh graduate was said to have visited the family of one Abdulrahman to solicit a job placement into the state civil service when he was kidnapped by the terrorists, the night he arrived there.

According to Saharareporters, a family member, Samaila Numun in an emotion-laden voice narrated that, “Abdulamalik left his house to seek employment only for him to be kidnapped and killed after three days in captivity.

“They had demanded N20 million ransom and we later agreed for N1.5 after they realised he was not their original target.

“We took the money to them around 6:00 pm at a location around the Modire area on the outskirts of Yola, the capital of the state.

“After they collected and confirmed everything, they released him to us; surprisingly when we climbed motorcycles to go, they opened fire on him, shot him in the back and he bled to death.”

The state police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, when contacted said “have yet to get any report about the incident, but we’ll find out and get back”.

He, however, had yet to get back as of the time of filing this story.
