EFCC arrests 17 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 17 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City.

The young citizens were arrested at their hideout in the Edo State capital.

A statement by the commission said the raid was carried out after “actionable intelligence”

The suspects are Kelvin Emmanuel, Osamuliamen Maxwell, Osrmudiamen Aganjele, Arebu Julius, Ebiechuwa Victory Ovie, John Uwague, Edward Asuelimhen, Onyeka Sunday, Omorefe Osazee.

Others include Daniel Collins, Collins Edobor, Chukwuemeka Johnson, Omofuma Godpower, Godday Osaretin, Osayande Osariemen, Destiny Enobokhare and Progress Edoagu.

Several phones, laptops and seven vehicles of different brands were recovered from them at the time of arrest.

The suspects will be charged after the conclusion of investigations, the EFCC noted.
