Gunmen kidnap popular Imo monarch

The traditional ruler of Isiala Umudi Autonomous community in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo state, Eze Jewel Ndenkwo, has been kidnapped by suspected gunmen.

The monarch was kidnapped in front of one of his companies around 7pm on Friday in Owerri, the state capital.

The traditional ruler is Chief Executive Officer of series of businesses including Udekings Nigeria Limited.

According to PUNCH, a source close to him said that the traditional ruler was kidnapped in front of his office at Tetlow in Owerri.

He said that the abductors of the king had yet to establish contact with his family.

He said, “HRH Eze Jewel Ndenkwo of Udekings Electronics was kidnapped about 7pm Friday in front of his office at the ever busy Tetlow Road in Owerri.”

The state police spokesperson, Michael Abattam, had yet to respond to an inquiry concerning the kidnap incident.
