Some masquerades flogged worshipers as well as Pastor after invading a church (name withheld) in Shikal village of Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
It was gathered that the incident, which happened on Sunday while the church service was ongoing saw the masquerades also destroyed the Church’s musical equipment.
According to Daily Trust, a witness said the church members were awe-stricken over the action of the masquerades, adding that members did not do take any counter-offensive action, but gathered to salvage what was left of their properties.
Elders of the village are said to be making efforts to get to the root of the matter in order to restore normalcy.
The church or Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) officials in the local government area could not be reached to comment on the incident as at the time of filling this report, Daily Trust reports.
