Three suspected traffic robbers have explained why it is easy to rob travelers around Ketu, Ojota and Berger areas of Lagos State.

The trio identified as Segun Olaiya (20), Ayinde Waris, (19) and Bashiru Mohammed, (28) were arrested while robbing some passengers at Ketu.

The suspects said they specifically target new comers with big luggage.

“We always attack travelers to Lagos because they are very easy to rob because they seem not to be smart like the Lagosians,” Ayinde said.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said operatives of Ketu Division on Wednesday, arrested the three members of a traffic robbery gang notorious for dispossessing motorists of their belongings at Ile-Iwe/Kosofe, Ikorodu Road, in Ketu area of the state.

Hundeyin said the suspects were arrested on Monday, while attacking some motorists.

“The suspects are currently assisting the police in an investigation to arrest other members of their gang. Suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of investigation,” he said.
