Why you should avoid driving under influence of alcohol – IBEDC warns residents

Residents and commuters in Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Kwara, Niger, Ekiti, and Kogi have been advised not to drive while intoxicated with alcohol.

On Friday, Kingsley Achife, the interim managing director of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), issued the warning.

Newsmen reported that Achife made a statement in Ibadan, saying the need to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol is necessary to prevent collisions. collisions with electric poles and other forms of accidents during the Independence Day celebration.

While enjoining residents to be moderate during the 62 independence anniversary, Achife advised motorists to observe traffic rules to avoid accidents that could damage electricity installations.
He also urged Nigerians to continue to strive for the development of the country, adding that one of the catalysts that drive the growth and development of any economy is electricity.

The statement said “Avoid driving under the influence of alcohol and observe traffic rules to prevent collision with electric poles and other forms of accidents during the independence celebration.
