Troops kill bandits’ warlord in Zamfara

Troops of Nigerian Military attached to Operation Hadarin Daji have killed a notorious bandits’ commander identified as Ibrahim Chire in Zamfara State.

It was gathered that Chire terrorised places like Gando, Gwashi, Bukkuyum and Anka general areas.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Must Danmadami, who disclosed this in a statement issued Thursday night, explained that the terrorist was killed during a gun-duel with the military.

He said two other terrorists’ were also neutralised while their followers fled with gunshot injuries.

Danmadami explained, “Troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI conducted a fighting patrol to bandits enclave at Doka village Gando Forest in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State today, 20 October 2022.

“During the patrol, troops made contact with bandits and engaged with enormous/deliberate fire. Troops in the process neutralized two terrorists while others fled with injuries.

“During exploitation of the general area, one of the neutralized terrorist was identified as Mr Ibrahim Chire a notorious bandit leader known for terrorizing Gando, Gwashi, Bukkuyum and Anka general areas.”

He added that the troops later recovered one AK 47, 4 round of 7.62mm Special, one Motorcycle, mobile phones amongst others.
