Welder docked for allegedly snatching woman’s phone, N80,000

Sunday Jacob, 29, was docked in a Mararaba Upper Area Court in Nasarawa State on Thursday for allegedly stealing a woman’s cell phone and N80,000.

The defendant is charged with criminal trespass and extortion and lives in Sharp Corner, Mararaba, Nasarawa State.

According to the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Hamen Donald, the complainant, Favour Akola of Kabayi, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, reported the matter on Oct. 10 at the Division “A” Police Station in Mararaba.

Donald stated that the complainant claimed that on Oct. 5, the defendant trespassed into her room and stole her Infinix cell phone and N80,000 in cash.

The defendant entered a not-guilty plea.

The defendant was granted bail in the amount of N200,000 with one surety in the same amount by the judge, Mohammed Jibril.

Jibril postponed the hearing until November 7.
