Six of Davido’s eight domestic helpers who were detained on Tuesday morning in connection with the death of his son Ifeanyi have been freed.

However, the toddler’s babysitter and chef have been held pending further investigation into the toddler’s passing.

A source claimed that the cook and nanny, who were responsible for the three-year-old boy’s care, had been imprisoned for a variety of offenses, including neglecting the child.

Ifeanyi, who celebrated his third birthday on October 20 with an extravagant celebration, was said to have drowned on Monday night in the pool at Davido’s home in the affluent Banana Island neighborhood of Lagos.

After Ifeanyi passed away, the police questioned eight home workers, including his nanny and chef.

According to the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, six of the ace singer’s workers have been released.

Hundeyin added that two of the workers assisting with the probe.

“Nobody was arrested. Of the people that were brought in for questioning, six were allowed to go while two are still with us, assisting with the investigation. There’s no update other than that investigation is still ongoing,” he said.
