Three persons have reportedly lost their lives over cult attacks in Ibagun/Okelele community, Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

It was gathered that the killing spree started around 8pm on Monday when one AbdulGaniy, aka Messi, was gunned down.

On Tuesday, some persons believed to be the deceased’s gang members reportedly killed one Adebayo Yitta, at his Aso Oke weaving centre.

According to PUNCH, an eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons, said, “Adebayo was hacked to death after he was shot. Also, one Lanre was killed today (Tuesday).”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, said he had not been briefed about the killings.

However, the District Head of Ibagun in Okelele community, Ilorin, Malam Sakariyau Ilufemiloye, condemned the invasion by the cultists.

Ilufemiloye, who confirmed the killing of two persons by the cultists on Monday and Tuesday, summoned an emergency meeting of all family heads and the security committee in the community over the development.
