Six persons killed and eight others injured in a motor accident which involved an 18-seater bus and a DAF truck at Awawa village in Abaji Area Council of the FCT on the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
According to Daily Trust, a witness said the accident happened on Thursday around 5am when the bus coming from the Lokoja axis rammed into the truck from behind.
He said six persons died on the spot and that eight others sustained injuries and were rushed to the Abaji General Hospital by officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
It was learnt that the victims were travelling from Lagos to Jos, Plateau State.
The Abaji Unit Commander of the FRSC, Abubakar Shehu Dogon- Daji, when contacted attributed the accident to loss of control and speed limit violation by the bus driver.
