The Oyo State Government has stated that the principals of schools that have lately been delisted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for examination malpractices in the state will face sanctions.
It further stated that the parents of the students implicated will face consequences.
Recall that WAEC delisted approximately 50 secondary schools in the state due to examination malpractices.
Barrister Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, made the announcement in Ibadan, the state capital.
He added that the state government would not tolerate examination malpractice. He also warned principals to desist from encouraging examination malpractice.
Abdu-Raheem said, “It should be noted that, the Oyo State Government has zero tolerance for examination malpractices, therefore, Principals and Teachers of both Private and Public Schools and parents were earlier warned to desist from any act of collaboration on examination malpractices as sanctions would be meted to concerned staff and parents”.
