73-year-old man, Dukuye Ohofete, has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl at Aswani, in the Isolo area of Lagos State.

It was gathered that the victim and her mother, who resided around Egan, in the Igando area of the state, visited the suspect at his residence on the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation Estate, Isolo, on Wednesday, December 13, 2022.

According to PUNCH, the septuagenarian sent the victim’s mother to the market the following day around 4pm to buy foodstuffs, as she left her child in his care.

A source stated that the Aswani Police Division was alerted when people around the suspect’s house heard the cry of the child.
