There has been heavy protests in Enugu, Anambra and Imo on Friday afternoon  by South East women over the continued detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The women under the aegis of Biafra women came out in their thousands, wielding placards with many inscriptions like ” Buhari must obey court order, Free Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally, We need Biafra referendum, etc said they are not happy with the continued detention of the IPOB leader despite the fact that appeal court has ruled in his favour.

In Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Imo state, there was total lockdown of the popular Aba market in the afternoon as these women literally took over the entire roads in the area.

They were also chanting all sorts of solidarity songs in honour of the detained Biafran leader.

In Enugu, the women took over the popular Nnamdi Azikiwe road, chanting solidarity songs, demanding the unconditional release of the detained Biafran leader.

They were also holding flags and flexes with Nnamdi Kanu pictures visibly printed on them.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the protest will spread all over the five south East states and even beyond should the IPOB leader not release.

The protest is also coming in the heels of the recent declaration of the failing health of the detained IPOB leader by his lawyer Barr. Aloysius Ajimakor.

Barr. Ajimakor has earlier this week announced that the IPOB leader has not received his drugs for the past nine days.

Federal government has earlier on said they no longer have enough money to buy drugs for the secessionist group leader.

This declaration has sparkled a lot of reactions and condemnation over the continued detention of the group leader.
