Gunmen allegedly attacked the General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA, Francis Chukwu, around Ishinweke in the Ihitte Uboma local government area of the state.

According to Vanguard, an eyewitness said that the attack took place on Wednesday at about 06:25 pm with shootings which lasted for over thirty minutes.

There is no confirmed reason for the attack but one of the eyewitnesses alleged it was an attempt to kidnap the OCDA GM, Chukwu. While others linked it to the 2023 general elections.
