19-year-old Abdulrazak Ibrahim alias “Popular”, has been arrested by the police for conniving with his accomplices to kidnap his 6-year-old cousin from Kano State to Kastina State.
The Katsina Police said Abdulrazak of Bachirawa quarters in Kano state, connived with two others identified as Aliyu Salisu alias “Chilo,” aged 19, and Mohammed Ibrahim alias “Zalamo,” aged 19, to kidnap their victim, Fatima Abubakar, age 6, of Bachirawa quarters in Kano state, on January 6, 2023.
According to the police statement, the victim who is a cousin of Abdulrasak was abducted at about 11 pm and whisked to Katsina state where they demanded a two million naira ransom.
It was gathered that the police immediately swung into action and investigations by detectives led to the arrest of Aliyu Salisu, alias “Chilo” while attempting to receive the ransom.
The police said during the course of the investigation, the other members of the syndicate were also arrested, and the victim was rescued unharmed. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
