24-year-old security guard, Barnabas Job, has been arrested over the alleged murder of a 26-year-old housemaid, Tereza Ekibi in the Lekki area of Lagos.
The state police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, told journalists on Sunday that the housemaid was allegedly murdered in her bedroom by the suspect at the same house they both work and live.
Hundeyin said a deep cut was discovered on the head of the deceased found in her bedroom, stressing that the suspect’s motive was yet unknown.
The PPRO said the cutlass used by the suspect was recovered with a bloodstain on it.
He said that the suspect, who confessed to the crime, had been taken to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, alongside the cutlass for investigation.
