A yet-to-be-identified newborn baby has been reportedly found dead in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The dead body, which was wrapped with black polythene, was reportedly dropped under the bridge at the Uncle Joe area in Mokola, Ibadan.

It was gathered that the body might have been dropped early Wednesday before the arrival of passersby.

In another news, police in Ogun State, on Monday, arrested three members of a robbery syndicate allegedly terrorizing Ewekoro and its environs.

The suspects were identified as Ahmed Isiaka, Sunday Ajibola and Jimoh Wahab.

The Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the arrest of the suspects followed a distress call received at Ewekoro division that a 4-man robbery gang had invaded Apomu Community in Ewekoro Local Government Area, dispossessing residents of their belongings.

Upon the distress call, the DPO of Ewekoro division, CSP Jacob Olayemi, was said to have quickly mobilized his patrol team to the scene.

On sighting the policemen, Oyeyemi said the hoodlums fled, but they were chased and three of them were arrested with the assistance of residents.

Oyeyemi listed the items recovered from the suspects to include: one locally fabricated double-barrelled pistol, five live cartridges, one expended cartridge, one Bajaj motorbike (with registration number TTN 975 VU), one TVS bike (with registration number JBD 353 W) and some criminal charms.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the State CIID for discreet investigation.
