Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have arrested three men for allegedly raping a hearing-impaired woman in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The NSCDC Spokesperson in the state, Tolu Afolabi, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, April 6, 2023, said the suspects, Sunday Shittu, 19, Famuagun Olajide, 19, and Olorede Elijah, 38, were arrested in Ado Ekiti.

Afolabi said the suspects were arrested after a desk officer in the People With Disability Unit went on a sensitization visit to School for the Deaf in Ikoro-Ekiti where the victim personally wrote a letter to the Unit on the alleged rape and sexual assault she encountered from the men.

Parading the suspects, the State Commandant, John Olatunde Fayemi warned parents to take adequate care of their children especially those that are living with challenges as some irresponsible men like these people are out there to molest and defile helpless special children.

The commandant assured that the suspects will be made to face the full wrath of the law by charging them to court of competent jurisdiction after the conclusion of preliminary investigation by the Command.
