A popular businessman, Alhaji Nasiru Na’ayya, has been kidnapped by gunmen in Gangarbi Village of Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
According to PUNCH, an eyewitness, who’s also a relation to the victim said the hoodlums stormed the residence of the businessman around 12 am on Monday.
The eyewitness, who does not want to be mentioned, added that on arriving there, the gunmen started shooting sporadically into the air, an action that attracted the attention of the victim’s neighbours.
“When people of the area attempted to prevent the gunmen from going with the victim, they shot two people, which led to the death of one instantly and another was injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” the eyewitness said.
It was gathered that Gangarbi village and its neighbouring villages, such as Bari and Gwangwan had recently experienced a series of gunmen attack.
The State Police spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the incident said he was waiting for the Divisional Police Officer from the area to give him details of the incident.
