On Sunday, a suspected rival cultist group attacked the Omoda area of Ilorin metropolis, the capital of Kwara State.
According to sources who spoke to our correspondent in Ilorin on Sunday, three others were injured in the attack.
The suspected cultists allegedly invaded the area from Ilorin’s Gambari district.
Toheeb of Ile Alagbede compound, Ajikobi area of Ilorin, was identified as the victim.
The suspected cultists launched an attack on the area around 2 p.m., accompanied by sporadic gunshots.
Incidentally, the victim could not be confirmed as a member of the cultists groups at the time of this report but was killed in the attack.
Contacted, the spokesman of the state police command, Okasanmi Ajayi, said “no incident of that nature had been reported.
He said “No report of the case is made in any of our police stations. Efforts to get information about the incident proved abortive please, ” he added.
