Poor services: Zenith Bank confirms fire outbreak at Lagos facility

Zenith Bank has confirmed a fire at its Victoria Island storage facility in Lagos State.

On Wednesday night, the bank’s management confirmed the unfortunate incident in a post on its verified Facebook page.

According to the statement, the incident that caused the facility to lose power occurred on Wednesday morning.

The inferno, however, was contained thanks to a quick response from the federal, Lagos State, and Eko Hotel Fire Services.

The statement reads, “We hereby report that there was a fire incident this morning at our storage facility Vitoria Island which is completely isolated from our head office complex, and this led to a temporary power outage.

“We appreciate the swift response of the Federal Fire Service, Lagos State Fire Service and Eko Hotel Fire Service that led to the swift containment of the incident”.

This is coming amidst complaints from customers across the country over poor banking services since Wednesday morning.

Costumers were unable to make transactions via the mobile banking app, the Automated Teller Machine, ATM has also been out of service.

The bank, however, assured that “services are being restored as normalcy returns”.
