Gunmen kidnap couple in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of a couple along the Ode-Omu-Gbongan road in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State by suspected kidnappers.

The Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident and said that the police were looking for the kidnappers.

“I assure you that search and rescue operations have commenced and the police personnel are on the trail of the kidnappers,” he said.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the couple were kidnapped on Monday, May 8, 2023 around 5 am at Oogi Ojudo town.

The pair, WITHIN NIGERIA learnt, were travelling from Lagos to Osogbo where they went to purchase some goods when the kidnappers swooped on them and led them into the bush.

The husband later escaped from the kidnappers’ den, while the wife remains in captivity.
