One Zulai Umar, a housewife, is seeking a dissolution of her 14 -year-old marriage over lack of love.

To achieve her objective, Umar who is married to Umar Abubakar, has prayed an Upper Area Court, Gwagwalada FCT, to dissolved their matrimony.

Umar told the court that she married Abubakar 14 years ago and they have been living together in Giri Gauta, Gwagwalada in FCT.

”I had a talk with him to stop drinking but to no avail. On June 20, 2022, when I delivered my last child, he got drunk on the naming ceremony day and created a scene in the presence of all his in-laws and relatives”, she said.

She said that after the incident she left her husband’s house for her parents for 10 months with her children.

”During that period my husband never visited to check the well-being of my children,” she said.

Umar prayed the court to dissolve the marriage on the grounds of lack of love and interest.

Abubakar could not respond well to the allegations from the wife because he was inebriated.

The Judge, Malam Abdullahi Abdulkarim, cautioned the defendant who was talking carelessly in the court

Abdulkarim adjourned the matter until June 23 in order to give the defendant room to reply because he was drunk.
