A fearsome Commander of the Islamic State of West African Province, (ISWAP), popularly known as Kiriku, has reportedly been killed by a snake in Sambisa forest, Borno State.

The deceased was said to have died three days after he was bitten by the venomous snake.

Kiriku suffered two snake bites from the ‘highly venomous’ brown snake in one of their den in Agikur Mosque in Damboa Local Government Area last Tuesday and died on June 23, 2023,
according to reports

Lack of access to medical treatment must have led to the terrorists’ leader death, sources claim.

He led many attacks and ambushes against troops of Operation Hadin Kai between the road from Maiduguri to Damboa.
