A man simply identified as Obadiah has been apprehended for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.
The 49-year-old suspect was arrested by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command.
He defiled the teenager at Ojike Street, Mile 1 Diobu, in Port Harcourt, the capital of the State.
Obadiah, who works as a security guard at a nightclub in Port Harcourt, reportedly asked his victim to buy him snacks. Upon her return, he told the unsuspecting girl to drop the snacks in his room. Once she stepped into his room, he locked the door, increase the volume of his radio set, and defiled her.
It’s gathered that a neighbour who suspected some foul play questioned the girl when she came out of the room.
Following her revelations, the neighbour reported the case to the Mile 1 Police Division.
SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed to DAILY POST the suspect has been transferred from Mile 1 Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Port Harcourt, for discreet investigation.
