Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have reportedly rescued 24 persons that were kidnapped by suspected bandits in Maru LGA of Zamfara state.

The operation by the troops followed an intelligence report on a bandits’ hideout at Kabugu Lamba forest.

According to reports, the troops engaged the terrorists in a gun duel which forced them to flee, leaving their captives behind.

Four bandits were said to have been killed during the encounter with the troops while others fled with gunshot wounds.
