Jubril Mamman Waziri and his wife, Hajiya Sa’adatu, the kidnapped ruler of the Gurku community in the Karu local government region of Nasarawa state, have both been freed.
At the time this story was being written, it was unclear whether a ransom had been paid before the release of the king and his wife, who have been held captive for roughly eight days.
Recall that on August 6, 2023, the traditional ruler and his wife were kidnapped from their home in the palace beside some mountains.
