Okoro Julius Alawari, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, has met with the heads of other security agencies in the state to discuss strategies for strengthening the security architecture and enhancing peace in the state.

The meeting focused on improving investigative strategies, information sharing protocols, deployment of personnel to troubled areas, capacity building initiatives, and overall synergy between the state’s police and other security agencies.

During the meetings, the commissioner thanked the heads of security agencies for their support and commitment to protecting and promoting peace, assuring them of his willingness to collaborate with them to achieve peace in the state.

Among the security chiefs were Maj. Gen. A. E. Abubakar, GOC, 3 Division and Commander, Operation Safe Haven Jos, BR. Amuda, Commander, 551 Nigerian Air Force Station, Jos, Comd’t Alexander Bissau, Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Jos, and Mr Mustapha Yahuza, Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA Jos.

The security chiefs expressed hope that peace would be restored in the state, thanking the CP for his willingness to collaborate in the interest of peace.

Stop taking complaints against police to social media, IGP Egbetokun tells Nigerians

Kayode Egbetokun, acting inspector-general of police (IGP), has appealed to Nigerians to desist from tabling their grievances against police officers before members of the public on social media.

Egbetokun made the plea on Tuesday during stakeholders meeting at the headquarters of the police command in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The meeting was attended by representatives of traditional and religious leaders; the leadership of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), leaders of the police community relations committee (PCRC), and Igbo and Hausa communities, among others in the state.

Egbetokun said Nigerians should not hesitate to report their complaints against the operatives to the police hierarchy.
