Earlier, Police Prosecutor Aliyu Abideen informed the court that Garba Audu of Kazawa village, Minjibir Local Government Area of Kano State, lodged a complaint with the Zango Police Division in Kano on August 24.

According to Abideen, on the same day around 2:00 a.m., the defendant entered the complainant’s residence in Kazawa village and absconded with two bulls worth N700,000.

The defendant was apprehended in Rangaza village while attempting to escape with the stolen bulls.

“During the investigation, the defendant stated that he employs a charm, a stick, and a piece of white cloth during thefts to ensure the cows remain silent and the owner remains asleep until he completes his operation.

“The native healer who provided the charm informed him that the charm would make him sweat once it becomes ineffective.

“The defendant informed the police that his arrest was due to the charm’s expiration.”

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor noted that the offense violates the stipulations of Section 133 of the Kano State Shari’a Penal Code.
