The 18-month-old boy, Muhammad Musa Abideen, was murdered, and the Bauchi State Police Command has committed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crime.

The Command announced that it has established an investigating committee under the direction of DCP Yakubu Mohammed, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, to fully look into the killing of the young boy.

According to a source, the State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, ordered the school’s immediate closure on Wednesday after Musa’s body was discovered there with some of his essential organs missing.

An investigation carried out by the police revealed that the toddler was with his mother, Saudatu Abideen ‘f’ (aged 21 years) of Bakin Kura Street in Bauchi metropolis when he went missing on August 19, 2023.

Wakil added that the corpse of the little child had been buried by his parents.

The statement quoted the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad to have “condemned the ruthless and terrible act exhibited by the anonymous men of the underworld, promising to trace and clampdown on the perpetrators to allow the law to take its course.”

The CP said the command was already tracking those suspected to be responsible for the gruesome murder of the little child, while promising to leave no stone unturned until the victim gets justice.
