  • The kidnappers fired shots into the air to create fear among family members and neighbors during the abduction

On Saturday morning, armed kidnappers struck El-Rufai Estate, located in the Bwari region of Abuja, and abducted one of the residents.

According to the victim’s wife, who recounted the incident to Daily Trust, the kidnappers breached the compound’s perimeter by breaking through the fence before forcibly taking her husband.

“They shot sporadically in the air to scare our family members and neighbours before taking my husband away,” the wife stated.

Also speaking to journalists, Chairman of Kuchiko Resettlement Development Area (KRDA), Baba Bego, said the assailants who were armed to the teeth, shot sporadically into the air before the abduction.

Mr. Bego reported that Mr. Chinedu, the victim in question, was abducted from his residence within the estate.

Expressing concern, Mr. Bego mentioned that the area has experienced four other kidnapping incidents in recent months, leading to heightened anxiety among residents who fear becoming the next victims. He urged law enforcement agencies to take decisive action to address this growing problem in the locality.

As of the time of this report, the kidnappers had not yet made contact with the victim’s family. Efforts by journalists to get comments from the police spokesperson in Abuja, Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful as she did not respond to phone calls.
