The Delta State Police Command has recently confirmed a successful operation against a group of armed bandits in the state.

According to the police report, the incident occurred when the patrol teams encountered the group of armed bandits who were waiting in the bush along the Warri-Benin highway to carry out their criminal activities, particularly kidnapping unsuspecting motorists.

In response to public concerns about the presence of suspected kidnappers in the Jesse forests along the highway, the Commissioner of Police promptly directed the deployment of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad team to the area.

This move was aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the public using the highway.

During a joint patrol operation, the police team encountered the armed bandits who, upon seeing the patrol vehicle, opened fire, disabling it. However, the police officers quickly responded and were able to overpower the gangsters, ultimately neutralizing them. In the process, four suspected kidnappers were fatally wounded.

The police recovered an AK47 rifle and ammunition from the gang, which further strengthens the evidence against them and their criminal activities.

The recovery of the weapon and ammunition is not only a significant success for the police but also serves as a deterrent to other criminal elements in the area.

The Commissioner of Police has commended the bravery and professionalism of the security operatives involved in the operation.

Their swift response and effective tactics demonstrated their commitment to the safety and security of the residents and travelers in Delta State.

The Commissioner also encourages the officers to continue their relentless efforts in the fight against kidnapping and other criminal activities.

In addition to praising the police force, the Commissioner also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the authorities.

The police rely on the support and cooperation of the community to gather information and intelligence that will help in combating crime effectively. With the help of the public, the police can take proactive measures to prevent crimes and apprehend criminals before they can cause harm.
