Police Foil Kidnap Attempt, Neutralise Bandit

In Yankara village, Faskari LGA, Katsina, the Katsina State Police Command successfully stopped an attempt by armed bandits to kidnap a child, killing one of the criminals and recovering one AK47 gun.

The deadly AK-47 rifle-wielding criminals attacked the neighbourhood on Monday at around 4:00 a.m.

ASP Sadiq Abubakar, the Command’s PPRO, made this information public in a statement. He claims that as soon as the Faskari police division heard the distress call, its agents quickly dispatched officers to the area and engaged the criminals in a ferocious gunfight, forcing them to leave their evil schemes and run into the surrounding bushes.

ASP Sadiq also noted that the lifeless body of one of the criminals and the recovered AK-47 rifle were discovered while combing the attack scene. He gave the identity of the deceased suspect as Bada Yaji, 25, a resident of Dajin Dungu, Yartuwaru in Faskari LGA.

Katsina State Police Commissioner CP Aliyu Musa, lauded the bravery and gallantry displayed by the police operatives in this operation.
