  • The Bauchi State NNPP youth leader expresses confidence in the party’s victory in the 2027 gubernatorial election, despite recent defections
  • The party remains resilient, with its foundational structure intact, and members are urged not to be distracted by recent departures

Alhaji Nazif Inuwa Malamin Kasuwa, the Bauchi State youth leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has expressed unwavering confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state despite facing current challenges.

Responding to the defection of several party members to the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Senator Halliru Dauda Jika, the NNPP’s gubernatorial candidate in the last election, Nazif issued a statement to reassure supporters that the party remains strong and resilient.

Speaking in Bauchi after the conclusion of the state executive council meeting of the NNPP, Nazif emphasized that the party’s foundational structure, which contributed to its popularity and success in the 2023 elections, remains intact and will pave the way for victory in the upcoming 2027 polls.

He urged NNPP members not to be distracted by the defections, emphasizing that such occurrences were transient and should not deter the party’s spirit. Nazif stated, “I am appealing to members of the NNPP not to be distracted by the defection of three people. I can assure you that the party is intact. Don’t be distracted. What is happening is just a mirage.”

Ahmad Tijjani Aminu, the state Publicity Secretary of the NNPP, also weighed in on the matter, saying, “We promise to work tirelessly to ensure the success of our great party. We regret the resignation of some of our members who contributed to our party’s achievements, and we wish them the very best.”

He emphasized that the NNPP is bigger than any individual and noted that the recent departures do not represent the unanimous decision of the party, as the majority of members have chosen to remain committed to the party’s cause.

This declaration by the NNPP’s youth leader and party officials underscores the party’s determination to overcome recent challenges and emerge as a formidable contender in the 2027 elections in Bauchi State.
