  • A family source said that the kidnappers are demanding N15 million ransom for his release

Emmanuel John Echeofun, Media Adviser to the Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has been kidnapped.

Echeofun was abducted on Tuesday night on his way from the National Assembly to his Gwagwalada residence.

A family source said that the kidnappers are demanding N15 million ransom for his release.

“They gave us till 10am today to provide the money or they will kill him,” the source said.

In another development in Adamawa State, one Florence Vandi has killed herself following the death of her boyfriend.

The said boyfriend, Nuhu Boniface, reportedly died while receiving treatment at a clinic.

After Boniface’s death, the shattered and distraught Florence drank a deadly local insecticide called ‘otapiapia’ that ended her life.

The police in the north east State confirmed the development in a statement by Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, on Tuesday.

Nguroje said that Florence Vandi’s death, said she “committed suicide while mourning the death of her boyfriend.”

Late Florence, said to be an indigene of Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, was residing at Viniklang in Girei Local Government Area where she was working in a primary health care centre.

According to the statement from the Police, Florence carried out the suicide mission on Tuesday, December 12.

Nguroje stated, “The deceased took the unfortunate decision a few hours after the death of her boyfriend known as Nuhu Boniface who died while receiving treatment at the hospital.

“Investigation further revealed that until her death, Florence was a health worker attached to Girei Primary health care centre.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola who expressed sadness over the incident, advised members of the public to avoid taking laws into their hands.”
