One Mahmud Adamu has been apprehended for allegedly sexually assaulting minors in Adamawa state, the police have said.
The 67-year-old resident of Sabon Layi in Ganye town of Ganye LGA, confessed to a habit of fingering young girls.
The state police command spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the development on Wednesday.
According to him, the suspect admitted to sexually assaulting three teenagers on separate occasions in his area.
Nguroje quoted the suspect as recounting how he usually caresses the girls before inserting his fingers in their private parts to satisfy his urges.
Adamu said he started the act in 2023 whenever his wife travelled.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Babatola Afolabi, has, in light of the development, advised parents to be vigilant with people who demonstrate undue friendship with their children.
