The state prosecution counsel, Ms Bukola Okeowo, informed the court that the defendant committed the alleged crime sometime in January 2022. She said the incident occurred at about 6 pm, in the Lekki area of the state.

According to the prosecutor, the offences committed contravened Sections 138 and 135 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

However, the defendant who took his plea in Hausa Language, through a translator, as he does not understand the English language, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.

Consequently, Justice Oshodi ordered that he be remanded in correctional custody and adjourned the matter till April 25, 2024, for the commencement of trial.
