  • The police recovered 563 pieces of counterfeit 100-dollar bills and N265,000 from the suspects

Twelve individuals from a syndicate, suspected of engaging in the production of counterfeit dollar notes, were apprehended along the Bajoga-Duku axis in Gombe State.

The Gombe Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, disclosed that the syndicate specialized in printing and circulating fake currencies.

The police recovered 563 pieces of counterfeit 100-dollar bills and N265,000 from the suspects.

Abubakar emphasized that the arrests were made based on credible intelligence, and upon completion of the investigation, the suspects would face charges in court.

He urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or activities to security agencies.

Abubakar said 563 pieces of counterfeit 100 dollar bills and N265,000 were recovered from the suspects by the police operatives, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

He also confirmed that operatives of the command acting on credible intelligence arrested the suspects between Bajoga and Dukku axis, respectively.

Abubakar said the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

He urged residents of the state to be more vigilant and report suspicious persons and activities to security agencies.
