Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, has called upon Nigerian soldiers to escalate their efforts in addressing the array of security challenges gripping the nation.

Speaking at the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) celebration organized by the Nigerian Army’s 35 Artillery Brigade in Alamala, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Abiodun stressed the pivotal role of the Nigerian Army in safeguarding the nation’s stability.

Represented by his Deputy, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the governor lauded the Nigerian Army as the beacon of hope for the nation, emphasizing the imperative of their success amidst daunting security threats.

“I will continue to provide unwavering support to enable you to protect law-abiding citizens and their properties. I implore you to redouble your efforts, particularly in light of the nation’s numerous security challenges,” stated Abiodun.

Addressing the personnel of the 35 Artillery Brigade, Abiodun underscored their privileged position within the Nigerian Army and urged them to remain steadfast, committed, and diligent in executing their responsibilities.

Highlighting the Brigade’s collaborative efforts with the Nigerian Police and other security agencies, the governor commended their contributions to fostering a secure environment conducive to daily activities across the State.

Brigadier General Mohammed Aminu, the Brigade Commander, emphasized the significance of WASA for celebrating diversity, promoting unity, and fostering social cohesion among officers, soldiers, and their families.

Encouraging a focus on training, professionalism, and welfare, Brigadier General Aminu urged the soldiers to align with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision while maintaining high service standards.

He applauded their unwavering dedication and called for sustained efforts to uphold excellence in the year 2024.
