A resident of Gidan-Makeri, Kabiru Awwal, disclosed that the bandits stormed the village in their large numbers wielding AK-47 rifles and attacked three herders camp in the area.

According to Awwal, the bandits first attacked the camp of one Alhaji Ibrahim Yabari, in which they rustled 123 cows, before they proceeded to the next camp and took away 100 cows.

“It was when the two among the herders were trying to resist the bandits from rustling the cows that one of the bandits opened fire and killed the two,” he said.

He said troops who were stationed at neighboring Janjala village, later arrived in the community and were still on the trail of the bandits.

The spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansur Hassan, has not issued a statement on the incident.
