The Enugu government says its has discovered three children dumped by a woman at Ogui police station in the state.

The woman was said to have been crushed to death after she ran into a moving vehicle.

It was learnt that the wife of the governor,  who rushed to the police station after learning about the incident, was told that the woman might have suffered depression which led to her death.

The deceased name is yet to be known.

The governor’s wife pledged to care for and train children from nursery school to university level, with sponsorship from her Custos Care Foundation (CCF).

The first lady also directed for immediate relocation of the children from the police station to a home, where the state government would take care of them. She urged people who suffer depression to seek counseling rather than taking rash decisions.

She appealed to Ngozi Enih, the state commissioner for gender affairs and social development, to intensify sensitization and counselling, especially for the depressed.
