The Plateau State Police Command has dispatched officers to Mikang and Langtang local government areas following a deadly clash between the Montol and Taroh ethnic groups over land disputes, resulting in nine fatalities.

DSP Alfred Alabo, spokesperson for the state’s Police Command, credited the swift police response with preventing further escalation of the violence, which saw homes and livestock targeted.

Alabo stated, “The CP has also ordered the relocation of the Area Commander, Langtang and Commander 66PMF to the troubled areas.”
