  • Dr. Paul Akintelure, a medical doctor and APC governorship aspirant, passed away in Lagos following earlier alarms about threats to his life

New details emerged on Tuesday regarding the untimely death of Dr. Paul Akintelure, a prominent governorship aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state. Mr. Oladapo Akintelure, the younger brother of the deceased, expressed doubts about the naturalness of his brother’s demise.

Dr. Akintelure, a medical doctor vying for the APC’s governorship ticket, tragically passed away in the early hours of Tuesday in Lagos. His death followed his earlier alarm about a “serious threat” to his life, which he had raised last Thursday, just before the APC governorship primary scheduled for April 25.

According to Oladapo Akintelure, his brother had been suffering from various illnesses for the past 12 to 14 days, including headaches, backaches, and chest pains. Concerned for his health, Dr. Akintelure was advised to take a break from his campaign activities and seek medical attention, leading to his hospitalization.

While expressing grief over his brother’s sudden demise, Oladapo voiced suspicions about the circumstances surrounding his death, describing it as unfortunate and not natural. In a statement, the family echoed their profound sorrow over the loss, highlighting Dr. Akintelure’s visionary leadership qualities and dedication to positive change in the state.
