Herdsmen attack Benue community again, kill two

At least two persons were killed after suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked a community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.

The incident happened on Sunday evening while the murdered locals were on their way to a function.

The were ambush and killed by the rampaging armed non-state actors between Egba and Ogbaulu communities of Agatu

According to DAILY POST, the victims are Agness Salahu, 28; and Ademu Efugoga, 25.

A cousin to the deceased, Barrister Napoleon Otache, who confirmed the incident to newsmen, saying that Agatu is currently under siege.

Otache decried the lack of security presence in the area while the attackers continue to unleash terror on the land.

He appealed to the Federal Government to dispatch security operatives to the area to stem the wanton attacks and mindless killings.

“This insecurity in our land has assumed a dangerous dimension.

“Help of the federal government is urgently needed as Agatu and Apa enclave has been under siege by the fulani terrorists.”

Benue State Police Command PRO, SP Catherine Anene, is yet to issue a statement on the incident.
