It’s gathered that trouble began two days earlier when one Eddy was reportedly beaten to stupor by a group of persons for allegedly purchasing items with “fake bank alert.”

The news of Eddy’s beating was said to have been misconstrued as an attack by rival cult members and that he (Eddy) was killed.

The misinterpretation of event , however, reportedly led to a reprisal attack by a rival cult group, resulting in fatality of the two students on Friday.

The Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the killings.

According to him, yes, the command is aware of it and investigation is ongoing in the matter and some suspects have been arrested.
